New Hampton, Iowa – The New Hampton Airport opened up shortly after World War II had ended in 1946. Many planes have flown in and out on the runway, but later this month, there will be a celebration for the newly renovated runway.
The New Hampton Airport Foundation will be putting on their yearly Fly-In/Drive-In Breakfast on Saturday, August 26th, but there will be more this year. Instead of just having a breakfast, the celebration will go all day long.
Following the breakfast in the morning, there will also be a lunch that starts at 12:30 and runs until 3:30 with events running all day. There is a car show, flea market, ribbon cutting for the new runway, airplane thrill rides, and much more.
The breakfast starts at 7 am and runs until 11 and costs $7. The lunch is free of charge.
