Work continues on the Charley Western Trail bridge; other city construction

Danger signs posted on the banks of the Cedar River upstream from unstable bridge

Charles City, Iowa – The Charlie Western Trail Bridge collapsed earlier this year and no replacement been constructed. Steve Diers, Charles City’s City Administrator, says that there will be change coming to it.

Diers expects that these studies will be done sometime this fall, and once they are finished, demolition will start. They are currently working on a replacement plan for the bridge.

He also talks about some of the construction that is taking place around Charles City.

School starts up next week so these improvements around town can only make life easier for people who need to get places.
