Rockford, Iowa – The Tosanak Recreation Area will be adding another cabin to the fleet that already exists out there. Currently of the 19 counties in northeast Iowa, only three of their county parks have cabins that are available for rent.
There are several small, rustic cabins that are already at Tosanak, but the hope with this new cabin is that it will accommodate families or larger groups of people. Another goal is to showcase how unique Tosanak really is.
Joel Cannon, co-chair for the Floyd County Conservation Board and chairperson of the Cabin Committee, says more about the project.
The project will cost about $120,000, and will be funded through private donations and grants. The committee is partnering with a group who could make it worthwhile for people who donate.
Cannon encourages people to go out to the park and explore to see what a special place this park is.
