A Volleyball On A Grunge Textured Background

The High School volleyball season will begin tonight with a few area schools kicking off their seasons.  The Nashua-Plainfield volleyball team will travel to New Hampton tonight to open up their season in non-conference play.  The Varsity match will begin at about 7:15.

The Rockford Warrior volleyball team will also start their season tonight with a non-conference match.  The Warriors will be at home to take on Clarksville.  First serve for the Varsity match will be at around 7pm.

The Riceville Wildcat volleyball team will also be at home tonight for their season opener.  The Wildcats will be in non-conference action against Northwood-Kensett.  This match is set to begin at 7:30.

Three defending champions are top ranked in the first Radio Iowa high school football poll. Todd Kimm reports.

And finally today, With more than a dozen starters back from last year’s team that finished 3-7 Luther College football coach Aaron Hafner feels the Norse can take the next step this season. The program received a boost over the summer when a blue artificial playing surface was installed at Carlson Stadium.

Hafner says it has already paid dividends on rainy days.

The Norse will be led by a large senior class of 23 players.

Hafner likes the potential of this year’s team.

Luther opens at Wisconsin-LaCrosse on September 2.
