Home art tour being offered Sept. 24

Charles City has become known for its wide variety of public art, especially in Central Park and along the riverfront. On Sunday, Sept. 24, five Charles City homes will be opening their homes for public viewing of their private collections.

The Design Committee of Community Revitalization has organized its first Home Art Tour to showcase some of the fine art collectibles in town. Five homes will be featured in this year’s tour, with the public able to check out the art collections in each between the hours of 1-4 p.m.

Mark Wicks, Charles City’s Community Development Director, says what this tour all has.

There will be five stops on the tour and tickets are $10 each, with proceeds going towards downtown beautification efforts. Tickets will be available at the Community Development Office beginning Sept. 1, as well as at each of the Home Art Tour locations the day of the event.
