Severe weather rolled through northeast Iowa this summer with high winds, lightning and flooding. Many trees have tumbled over during these storms and every time a tree falls it could fall on something of value. St. Ansgar will be doing something to prevent this from happening.
The St. Ansgar street superintendent says trees will be removed for safety and a lot of them will be in front of houses. Citizens have requested to have some of these taller, older trees removed.
The city plans to remove over 100 trees in the coming weeks.
