A Volleyball On A Grunge Textured Background

The Osage Green Devil volleyball team was impressive last night in their Top of Iowa Conference home match-up with Central Springs.  The Green Devils swept past the Panthers three games to none by scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-18.  The second-ranked Osage volleyball team is now 2-0 overall this season and in conference play.  They will next be in action tomorrow night at Saint Ansgar.

The North Butler Bearcat volleyball team was also victorious last night in their Top of Iowa Conference home match as they defeated Mason City Newman three games to none.  Scores went 25-15, 25-25 and 27-25.  The Bearcats improve to 5-3 overall this season and they move to 2-0 in league play.  They will be on the road tomorrow night for another match.

The Rockford Warrior volleyball team went down to West Fork last night in Top of Iowa Conference play on the road.  The War-Hawks swept Rockford three games to none by scores of 25-20, 25-12 and 25-17.  With the loss, the Warrior volleyball team falls to 1-2 overall this season and they start their conference season off at 0-2.  They will look for that first league win next Tuesday night at home against Northwood-Kensett.

Several area girls and boys cross country teams participated in a meet held on the campus of Mercy Medical Center yesterday hosted by Mason City Newman Catholic.  In the girls race Osage finished in fourth place as a team with 129 points and Saint Ansgar was fifth with 132 team points.  Addy Carlson of Saint Ansgar was the best individual finisher among area runners as she came in third place.  Rockford’s Sheridan LaCoste came in fourth, Brooke Scharper of Osage was tenth overall and Addy Witt finished in 15th place for the Saints.  In the boys race, Osage came in fifth as a team with 141 points, North Butler was eighth and Rockford was ninth.  The three top individual finishers from the area all were from Osage as Alex Swenson finished in 21st, Elijah Bluhm was 22nd and Caleb Sledd was 28th.
