Marble Rock man injured in one vehicle crash

Marble Rock, Iowa – One person was injured in a single vehicle accident on Wednesday.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office says a 1987 Ford van, operated by 78-year-old John Scherer of Marble Rock, was northbound in the 2900 block of Greene Road, south of Marble Rock, when he became distracted and entered the east ditch, tipping the vehicle onto its side.

Scherer was transported to Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa for unknown injuries.

The vehicle is considered a total loss and the investigation into the accident continues.

The Marble Rock Fire Department, Greene Ambulance and the Greene Fire Department all assisted at the crash scene.
