Southern Minnesota Crash Claims Life of Rockford Man

Waseca, MN – A car crash in southern Minnesota claimed the life of a Rockford man on Wednesday afternoon. The crash occurred five miles south of Waseca around 1:00 p.m.

52-year-old Ryan Uker of Rockford was driving northbound on Highway 13 in his Freightliner when he crossed the center line and caused a head on collision. The driver he struck was 31-year-old Zakary Massie of Northville, Michigan. Massie was driving south when his Dodge Ram was involved in the wreck.

Uker died in the crash and Massie was taken to the Mayo Clinic Health System-Mankato for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities were able to report that Massie was wearing his seatbelt, but they cannot confirm is Uker was.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
