School Board Elections are Taking Place Today

Charles City, IOwa – Out with the old and in with the new. School board elections will be held in the area today across the state, with a small segment of registered voters expected to participate.

Secretary of State Paul Pate is the state’s commissioner of elections.

Absentee ballots were to be submitted by 11:00 this morning, but polling stations are open until 8:00 p.m. Missy Freund, Joshua Mack and Scott Dight are the candidates running for three open board positions in Charles City while RRMR has Mike Staudt and Jeff Kuhlers running for their districts two open positions.

For Charles City:

Precinct 1 votes at the Floyd County Courthouse
Precinct 2 votes at the Messiah Lutheran Church
Precinct 3 votes at the Trinity United Methodist Church
The Floyd, Niles and Cedar townships vote at the Floyd Community Center


Rudd: Rudd City Hall
Rockford: Rockford City Hall
Marble Rock: Marble Rock Public Library

This is the last time school board elections in Iowa will be held in September. Starting in 2019, school board elections will be held in November, on the same day as city elections.
