KCHA Sports Report (9/22)

Charles City Comet Football

Tonight is Week 5 of the Iowa High School Football Season, here is where our area teams will be.  It’s Homecoming week for the Charles City Comet football team.  The Comets will host Independence in a Class 3A District 3 contest.  Charles City will be looking for their first District win of the season as they sit at 1-3 overall and they are 0-2 in District play while Independence comes in at 2-3 and 1-1.  You can tune into this game right here on KCHA starting with a pre-game around 7pm and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky football team will receive a win tonight without stepping foot on to the field.  For the second week in a row, the North Butler Bearcat football team will have to forfeit due to lack of players.  Sickness and injuries have hit the Bearcats hard and we hope they’ll get to play next week at Rockford.

The Osage Green Devil football team will be in a Class 2A District 2 game tonight at home for their Homecoming game against Crestwood.  The Green Devils are 1-3 overall this season and they are 1-1 in District play.  The Cadets come in at 2-2 overall and they are 2-0 in District play.  You can tune into this game on our sister station 987 KISS Country starting with a pre-game at about 7:15 and kickoff will be at around 7:30.

The Rockford Warrior football team will be looking for their first win of the season tonight as they get set to do battle in a Class A District 3 game at home against Mason City Newman.  The Warriors are 0-4 overall and they are 0-2 in District play while the Newman Knights come in at 3-1 and 1-1.  Kickoff for this game is scheduled for 7pm.

The Saint Ansgar Saints football team will look to stay perfect on the season tonight when they head to West Fork.  The Saints are 4-0 overall this season and they are 2-0 in Class A District 3.  The War-Hawks come in with an overall record of 1-3 and they are 0-2 in District play.  This game will also kickoff around 7pm.
