Two people jailed on Floyd County burglary charges

Charles City, Iowa – The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in progress Friday night.

Deputies rushed to the 2200 block of Walnut Avenue, east of Charles City at approximately 6:49pm where they found two subjects.

After an investigation, 53 year old Bradley Hanawalt of New Hampton was arrested and charged with 3rd degree burglary, a class D felony and driving while suspended.

32 year old Leigh Viers of Charles City was also arrested and charged with 3rd degree burglary, a class D felony.

Hanawalt and Viers were transported to the Floyd County Jail.
