A Volleyball On A Grunge Textured Background

In a match heard right here on KCHA last night, the Charles City Comet volleyball team was in Waverly for a Northeast Iowa Conference match against the Go-Hawks.  Waverly won the first game 25-14, the Comets came back and won game two 25-23, but then Waverly went on to win the next two games 25-17 and 25-16 to take the match three games to one.  Sami Heyer led the Comets with seven kills, Sydney Loeckle had 22 assists and Tayler Schmidt and Jodie Sindlinger each had three ace serves.  With the loss, Charles City volleyball falls to 10-9 overall this season and they are now 3-1 in the NEIC.  They will take part in their own tournament tomorrow.

Tonight marks week six of the Iowa High School football season, here is the schedule for our area teams.  The Charles City Comet football team will be in Vinton tonight for a Class 3A District 3 match-up with the Vikings.  The Comets come in at 1-4 overall this season and they will be looking for their first District win as they sit at 0-3.  Vinton-Shellsburg is also 1-4 overall while they are 1-2 in District play.  You can tune into this game right here on KCHA starting with a pre-game at 7pm with kickoff scheduled for 7:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield Husky football team will be looking for their third win in a row as they get set for a Class A District 3 road game at West Fork.  The Huskies come in at 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the District while West Fork is 1-4 and 0-3.  Kickoff from Sheffield will be at 7pm.

The Osage Green Devil football team will be on the road tonight taking on Forest City.  The Green Devils are 2-3 overall and they sit at 2-1 in Class 2A District 2 while the Indians are winless at 0-5 and 0-3.  You can tune into this game on our sister station 987 KISS Country starting with a pre-game at 7:15 and kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.

For the first time in three weeks, the North Butler Bearcats will take the field tonight for a Class A District 3 contest at Rockford.  After forfeiting the last two weeks, the Bearcats sit at 2-3 overall and they are 0-3 in District play.  The Warriors will be out looking for their first win of the season tonight as they sit at 0-5 overall and 0-3 in the District.  Kickoff will be at 7pm.

The ninth-ranked Saint Ansgar Saints football team will put their undefeated season on the line tonight in Class A District 3 play at Grundy Center.  The Saints come in at 5-0 overall and 3-0 in District play while Grundy Center is 3-2 and 2-1.  Kickoff for this game will also be at 7pm.
