Cub Scouts Fishing for Donations

Charles City, IA – The local Cub Scouts, Pack 4166, will have a busy Saturday this weekend as they have two events going on.

Their day will start at 9:15 a.m. when scouts will venture out to pick up food for Scouting for Food. Tags for this were put out earlier this week. Jackie Walsh, with the scouts, says more.

Walsh says that the only thing they ask for is that the food is not expired. If the food is expired than the Cub Scouts have to pay to dispose of it.

Later on that day the scouts will have a fishing derby. This will run from 1 to 3 p.m. and everybody from the district is invited. Cub Scouts are encouraged to bring friends along to fish.

They will be fishing at Bill and Pat Fluhrer’s pond. The address for the lake is 2437 7 Mile Road in Charles City.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
