Charles City, IA – The race for Iowa governor will be picking up soon with the election being 13 months away. Charles City had a democratic candidate in town Wednesday afternoon and he went to go visit the new middle school.
Fred Hubbell officially entered the race to represent the democratic party in the Iowa governor’s race in July. He had heard about the new middle school in Charles City, so he checked out the facility on Wednesday.
Hubbell liked the architecture and the outside of the building as well saying it was very engaging. A lot of his focus is on education and he plans to increase education funding and innovation.
He has grown up in Iowa, went to school at the University of Iowa and has helped the state when disaster has struck. Hubbell says what he likes most about being an Iowan.
With the election being a year away still, Charles City residents should expect more candidates to visit the city in the coming months.
