UPDATE: Financial Struggles Close Cedar Health

Charles City, IA – Cedar Health in Charles City is closing their doors on December 2. The home will be closing due to financial struggles.

The 57-bed nursing facility notified their residents a few days ago. Mike Steinkruger, managing member at Cedar Health, says that the Greene home is completely separate from the Charles City facility.

Steinkruger also says that finding a new home for the residents is going well.

There has been a lot of interests from others about these residents, but he says that the transition has been and will continue to be difficult.

Steinkruger has grown close to the families of these people over his three years with the home.

The residents of Cedar Health have 60 days before the building shuts down. There are no plans for this building at the time.
