Floyd County, IA – Severe weather hit Iowa hard this summer and many volunteers took to the streets to help with the damage. The Floyd County Emergency Management Agency is attempting to put together a Community Emergency Response Team or CERT.
This group would act as a support function for all of the emergency responders. Lezlie Weber, director of IA CEM, says more.
There are no specific requirements to become a volunteer for this organization, but all volunteers must go through a training course. This allows for residents of Floyd County to help.
There will be a meeting for CERT at the Floyd County Court House in the assembly room on Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. Weber says why people should join.
The organization is not just looking for people to join from Charles City, but from all over Floyd County.
