Mercy Medical Starts Renovations

New Hampton, IA – Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton will be undergoing some renovations over the next couple of years. Some growing pains are expected to happen during this time period.

The hospital is having $6,000,000 worth of construction done to the building. The emergency, inpatient and registration departments will all see improvements. Jenny Monteith, public relations director at Mercy, says where the project will start.

The emergency department will be adding a 1,500 square feet addition. The project is projected to take 16 to 18 months. The goal is to make the hospital more safe and secure.

Mercy also has a fundraiser coming up to kick off the holiday season. Their annual Fudge Sale is set to start in the next month.

Today is the last day for pre-orders. Order forms are available online and should be mailed to Monteith. Fudge will be available on the day of the sale for pickup as well.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
