Charles City Man Arrested for High Speed Chase

Mason City, IA – A high-speed chase in Mason City on Wednesday has led to the arrest of a Charles City man. Numerous charges have been filed against the driver.

22-year-old Andrew Kroeze was driving his Oldsmobile Cutlass when an officer attempted to pull him over for speeding and a stop sign violation at Highway 122 and Pennsylvania Ave. He then sped off out of town, but would eventually turn around and head back into city limits. This all started around 3:48 a.m.

Speeds would hit 100 miles per hour before an officer would intentionally hit Kroeze while he was traveling eastbound on Highway 122. This maneuver ended the pursuit.

No one was injured during the chase. Kroeze is now facing a long list of charges. He received felony charges of eluding and possess and convey contraband into a correctional facility; misdemeanors of escape from custody in Webster County, parole and probation revocation/violation, and possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
