Monday Police Report in Charles City

Charles City, IA – The Charles City Police Department responded to an arrest and two car accidents on Monday.

The first incident happened at the intersection of North Main St. and North Grand Ave. 25-year-old Anthony Holschlag pulled away from a stop sign and struck 41-year-old Michael Houdek who was headed north. Both drivers were from Charles City. No injuries were reported, but $3,500 in damage was reported. Holschlag was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign and he had no proof of insurance.

The second accident happened on South Grand Ave. when a deer walked in front of a driver. 72-year-old Carol Mennenga of Osage was traveling southbound when she crossed paths with the deer. The collision caused an estimated $2,000 in damage.

An arrest was also made in the 100 block of 9th Ave. on Monday. 21-year-old Caleb Green of Charles City was arrested for a Mitchell County Warrant.
