KCHA Sports Report (10/19)

The Osage Green Devil volleyball team opened up postseason play last night with a home match against the Crestwood Cadets.  After winning the first game by a slim 25-20 margin, the Green Devils then picked it up to win game two rather easily 25-14 and then dominated the third game 25-8 to win the match three games to none.  Freshman Dani Johnson led Osage with nine kills on the night, Kelsey Havel and Brenna Jacobs each had eight and Sydney Midlang had seven.  Rylie Olson finished with 30 assists and Sophia Muller was 17 of 17 serving with two aces.  The Green Devil volleyball team improves to 23-9 overall this season and they will compete in a Class 3A Region 4 Semi-Final at home on Tuesday night against Clear Lake.

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and Iowa High School Athletic Association will be holding State Qualifying girls and boys cross country meets all over the state today.  The top three teams and top 15 overall finishers will qualify for the State Meet in Fort Dodge next Saturday.  The Charles City Comet girls and boys cross country teams will be in Manchester tonight for their Class 3A qualifier.  The event will be held at Heart Ridge Golf Course with the girls race to start at 4pm and the boys will race at about 4:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield, North Butler, Rockford and Saint Ansgar girls and boys cross country teams will race in a Class 1A meet in Eagle Grove tonight.  The meet will take place at the Eagle Grove Country Club and begin with the girls race at 4pm with the boys race to follow.

The Osage Green Devil girls and boys cross country teams will compete at Fox Ridge Golf Course tonight in Dike for their Class 2A race.  Again, the girls race will start at 4pm and the boys race is scheduled to begin at 4:30.
