A Quick Call can Save a Pet

Charles City, IA – Stray cats and dogs will be looking for shelter as the season is turning. Instead of pushing these animals away, there is another route residents of Charles City can take to make sure these animals stay warm this winter.

Julie Taylor, director of PAWS, says that a quick call can help out these four-legged friends.

The shelter’s primary focus is dogs and cats, but they have even taken in a couple of pigs before. Taylor says that if a person comes across a stray animal and no one can come pick it up, to hold onto it until someone is available.

Taylor says the organization has gotten calls about other animals, but the shelter doesn’t have the resources for some animals.

PAWS is open on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
