Sex Acts Lands Man Behind Bars

Waverly, IA – A man who had pled guilty to lascivious acts with a child was sentenced to prison last Monday.

32-year-old Phillip Hamby of Sumner was arrested in December of 2016 for events that occurred in between May of 2013 and July of 2015. He allegedly fondled two girls between the ages of four and seven years old.

Hamby was sentenced in the Bremer County District Court to two, consecutive 10-year sentences. He will be on lifetime parole once he is released and must register as a sex offender.

He was originally charged with second-degree sexual abuse, but that was changed to lascivious acts with a child.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
