2017 Campaign Started for United Way

Mason City, IA – United Way has gotten it’s 2017 campaign underway to help communities in North Central Iowa.

The organization looks to put financial and volunteer efforts into towns that need help in certain areas. Jennifer Arends, community impact director at United Way, says more about this campaign.

Some ways people in north central Iowa can help is by pledging money or volunteering their time to help. Funding goes towards the greatest needs identified by the city itself.

Arends says what other programs are coming up for United Way.

United Way covers eight counties in north central Iowa. Over 30% of people struggle to make ends meet. United Way helps to lower that number.


Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
