May Police Chase Driver Enters Plea

Winneshiek County, IA – The man that took police on a chase in May that spread over two counties has entered guilty pleas for his charges.

25-year-old Zachary Willie started the chase on May 4 in Fayette County. The chase would eventually end in Winneshiek County, but not before a long list of crimes was totaled up. Willie has admitted to slamming two police cars and injuring the officers inside.

He now faces time behind bars for eluding, four counts of assault on persons in certain occupations, 2nd degree criminal mischief and interference with official acts. Willie could be facing up to five years in prison, according to his plea agreement.

No official date has been set for his sentencing.
