Floyd County Man Skips Plea Hearing

Floyd County, IA – Two northeast Iowa residents were arrested on Sept. 22 after police responded to a burglary in progress.

53-year-old Bradley Hanawalt of New Hampton and 32-year-old Leigh Viers of Charles City were both charged with 3rd degree burglary after this crime. The break in happened in the 2200 block of Walnut Avenue in Charles City.

Tuesday was their plea hearing. Viers pled not guilty to the charge while Hanawalt was a no show. There is now a statewide warrant out for his arrest.

The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office made the original arrest.
