Charles City, IA – A new law was just passed by the Charles City City Council on Monday. This law would address nuisance calls into the police station.
This law allows for land owners to be charged if there are repeated nuisance calls into the police station. Typically, it would be for a place that has a history of calls into the authorities. The new ordinance covers businesses and other properties in Charles City, however, city owned properties are exempt from these charges.
This is different from the proposed ordinance by Matt Lovik earlier. This states that all residents of a rental property must submit their name to their landlord, which could be relayed to the authorities.
The nuisance ordinance was in its last reading before getting passed by the city council.
