Veterans Day Ceremony in Charles City

Charles City, IA – The Charles City school district came together on Thursday morning to put on a Veterans Day ceremony for the soldiers who have or are currently serving our country.

The FFA program at Charles City High School helped put this on. The ceremony started with the advancement of the colors, moved to guest speaker Steve Wikert and eventually wrapped up with a closing reflection and prayer from Patti Kellogg.

Bailee Bortz, senior at CCHS, helped put on this ceremony. She says what all went into it.

The students that helped say that the biggest problem they had was getting the word out to the community.

Bortz and Blake Frascht, junior at CCHS, say that this program helps students at the school appreciate these men and women more.

Veterans Day always takes place on Nov. 11, and other locations in the area will be holding ceremonies to honor these brave men and women.

Chris Berg

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
