Beam Signing at Mercy

New Hampton, IA – The Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton has been doing renovations to some parts of the hospital. The $6,000,000 project will improve the Emergency Department, Inpatient Wing and Registration Area.

The beams for the structure just got delivered the other day, but before they get installed in the building, one beam will have something special done to it. Jenny Monteith, public relations coordinator at Mercy, says more.

The eight-foot long beam will be a fun way to get your name etched in New Hampton’s history. There will also be some refreshments during the signing.

Of the $6,000,000 needed for this project, over $1,000,000 has been raised. Signing this beam may not be an important thing, but it is a way to bring the community together.
