Messiah Lutheran Church to Host Annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner

Charles City, IA – The Messiah Lutheran Church in Charles City will be doing their part to help others on Thanksgiving this year.

The church has been hosting a free Thanksgiving Dinner for many years now. On the menu this for this year’s meal is turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, beans, dinner rolls and deserts.

Bill Cavanaugh, with Messiah Church, says what goes into planning this event.

This meal offers take-out orders as well. Volunteers are needed to help put this dinner on.

The meal starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Anyone who is interested can make and donate a desert, and in return, they will receive a free meal ticket.
