Charles City, IA – Multiple car accidents took place in Charles City on Thursday.
Charles City Police first reported to the intersection of 6th Ave. and D St. for a two-car accident. 16-year-old Tait Arndt of Charles City was driving a Buick Lucerne when he rear ended a Chrysler Concorde that was driven by Gretchen Milks of Charles City. Milks was parked on the side of the road legally when she was struck. $5,500 in damage was reported and Arndt was charged with failure to maintain control.
The second crash was a hit-and-run. This happened in the 400 block of Hulin St. 23-year-old Tanner Koskie of Charles City had his Mitsubishi hit by an unknown vehicle. This incident was investigated.
The final crash of the day occurred when 67-year-old Alvin Fisher of Charles City failed to stop at a stop sign and struck 42-year-old Christina Hoeft of Charles City. The two-vehicle accident happened at the intersection of 4th Ave. and E St. It was estimated that $3,000 in damage was done, and Fisher was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
