Black Friday Police Report

Charles City, IA – It was a not so happy Black Friday for two residents of Charles City as they were involved in a car crash.

The accident occurred at the intersection of 3rd Ave. and G St. A Ford Fusion driven by 67-year-old Daniel Kennedy was driving southbound on G St. when he collided with 17-year-old Gillian King who was eastbound on 3rd Ave. Both vehicles sustained $5,000 in damages, and one person was later taken to the Floyd County Medical Center. Kennedy was cited for failure to yield right of way.

Another person was arrested on Friday.

The Charles City Police Department pulled over a car on 2nd St. and South Main St. for a traffic stop. It was found that 53-year-old Keith Haley was taken into custody for driving while suspended. Once Haley arrived at the jail, illegal narcotics were found.
