In a game heard right here on KCHA last night, the Charles City Comet girls basketball team was at home for a non-conference match-up with Garner-Hayfield-Ventura.  The Comet girls fared much better than they did in their season opener as the Charles City offense tripled their output from their first game.  In the end though, it was the Cardinals who won the game by a final score of 67-58.  The Comet girls fall to 0-2 on the season and will be looking for their first win on Saturday in Algona.

The Rockford Warrior girls basketball team opened up their season last night with a non-conference road game at Clarksville.  After falling behind 19-8 after the first quarter, the Warriors started to chip away at the lead, but could not quite get over the hump and lost the game 38-34.  Jamie Schuster led Rockford with 10 points and five rebounds and Amber Reams and Jenna Paulus each had seven points.  The Warrior girls are 0-1 this season and will begin Top of Iowa Conference play tonight at home against Nashua-Plainfield in a girl/boy double header.
