Kettle Campaign in Chickasaw County

Chickasaw County, IA – It is the time of year where volunteers are out ringing bells for the Salvation Army. The money raised goes to people who need it. Chickasaw County takes part in this fund raiser.

Liz Markham, helps put on the Kettle Campaign, and she says that this started around Thanksgiving. This only runs for about a month. Markham says more about it.

Last year the campaign fell just short of their goal, but this year’s goal is just as big. The volunteers have raised $3,000 in just over a week.

Markham says where these kettles are at in Chickasaw County.

Christmas is a time to give, and what better way than to help those people in need. For those interested in volunteering, call the funeral home at 641-394-4331.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
