Fred Matlage Talks about Sumner-Fredricksburg

Bremer County, IA – Enrollment numbers are in for schools across the state of Iowa. Sumner-Fredricksburg got their numbers back for this year and saw a slight dip in students going to their school district.

The school district saw about a 10-student drop from last school year to this school year. Fred Matlage, the school district’s superintendent, says why enrollment numbers matter.

The district has multiple buildings and different levels of education at some of the buildings. In all, there is well over 100 faculty members.

Everyone plays a key role in helping kids with their needs. Matlage says how the district helps prepare students for the future.

One thing that Matlage wants to make sure of is that every student that attends the district feels valued.
