Scoring the winning points at a basketball game

This weekend will be busy for our local winter sports teams.  The Charles City Comet boys and girls basketball teams will be in Algona tomorrow afternoon for a non-conference girl/boy double header.  The Comet girls come in at 0-2 overall this season while the Algona girls are 1-1.  The Charles City boys will enter tomorrow’s game at 0-1 and the Bulldog boys are 0-1 as well.  You can tune into both games tomorrow right here on KCHA beginning with a pre-game at 1:45, tipoff for the girls game will be at 2pm with the boys game to follow.

The Charles City Comet wrestling team will participate in a tournament tomorrow in Cedar Falls.  The Comet grapplers will join about 15 other schools an individual tournament that will begin at about 10am.

The Nashua-Plainfield girls and boys basketball teams will host Northwood-Kensett tonight in a Top of Iowa Conference girl/boy double-header.  The Nashua girls come in with an overall record of 0-2 and they are 0-1 in conference play while the Viking girls are 0-2 and 0-1 as well.  The Husky boys are 0-1 overall and in the conference so far and Northwood’s boys have identical 0-1 records.  The girls game tonight will start at about 6:15 and the boys game will follow.

The Osage Green Devil girls and boys basketball teams will host a Top of Iowa Conference girl/boy double-header tonight as well as they will welcome in Central Springs.  The Osage girls and boys are both 1-0 overall and in league play while the Central Springs girls are 1-0 and the Panther boys are 0-1.  The girls game will tip-off first at about 6:15 and the boys game will get started at around 7:30.

The North Butler Bearcat girls and boys basketball teams will play at home tonight in a Top of Iowa Conference girl/boy double-header against Mason City Newman.  The Bearcat girls started their season with a conference win and sit at 1-0 overall and in conference games while the Newman girls are 1-1 and 0-1.  The North Butler boys are 1-0 overall and in the conference and the Newman boys have a record of 0-1.  Tip-off for the girls game will be at 6:15 with the boys game to follow.

The Rockford Warrior girls and boys basketball teams will be on the road tonight for their Top of Iowa Conference double-header against West Fork.  The Warrior girls are 1-1 overall this season and they sit at 1-0 in the conference while the West Fork girls are 0-1.  Rockford’s boys are 2-0 overall and 1-0 in league play and West Fork comes in at 0-1.  The girls game is scheduled to start at 6:15 and the boys will play right after the girls.
