Fundraiser for Reserves

Floyd County, IA – The Floyd County Sheriff’s Office is starting a fundraiser to help pay for the volunteers that assist the deputies. The volunteers are also called reserves.

The reserves have been trained and certified, but they are still only part-time workers. The total cost to support each of these people is $3,000. That cost comes from the training, uniforms and medical checks. The volunteers are asked to purchase their own equipment other than that.

Reserves get paid $1 for insurance purposes. It is not yet announced what the fund raiser will be, but donations are being accepted. To donate call the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office at 641-228-1821.

The sheriff’s office currently has five reserves.
