Car Accident in Fayette County Sends Four to the Hospital

Fayette County, IA – A three-vehicle accident that happened in Fayette County on Monday afternoon sent four people to the hospital.

The crash happened when 18-year-old Logan Johnson of Cresco was driving north on Highway 150 in his Ford F-150 while snapchatting. He then collided with Paul Spies Jr. and his passenger Callie Ann Tope who were driving a Jeep. The chain reaction continued as Spies Jeep would collide with 67-year-old Barbara Corbin of Wadena. She was driving a Chrysler 200.

The accident took place at 3:50 p.m. on Monday about five miles north of Fayette.

Both the Jeep and the F-150 were considered total losses, and the Chrysler 200 sustained $5,000 in damage.

All four people involved in the wreck were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Johnson was cited for use of an electronic device while driving.
