Free Thanksgiving Meal Results in Donation to Food Pantry

Charles City, IA – The Messiah Lutheran Church hosted a free Thanksgiving Day meal this year and saw a great turnout for this event.

Bill Cavanaugh, helped put on the diner, says that residents in the area did a great job in helping put on this meal.

The diner went so good that donations from it will be able to be given to the local food pantry.

Although the meal has come and gone, Cavanaugh says that the pantry is always looking for donations. Canned goods get taken to the pantry often, but the power of monetary donations is strong.

Thanksgiving may have come and gone, but it is still the season of giving.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them. Chris lives in Charles City with his wife Vicki, daughter Brynlee and son Jaxon.
