New Year’s Eve Drug Charges for Charles City Man

Charles City, IA – A Charles City man was arrested for felony charges on New Year’s Eve after a traffic stop.

24-year-old Dalton Betsinger was traveling on Highway 65 when authorities pulled him over for not wearing his seatbelt. Officers saw a backpack in the back seat with a safe inside of it. What was inside of the safe led to him receiving two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, carrying a dangerous weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

There was 3.26 ounces of methamphetamine, marijuana, small baggies, a digital scale, a glass pipe and a stun gun that were found in the safe.

Betsinger is currently being held in Cerro Gordo County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
