Basketball With Dark Background On A Wood Gym Floor

With no local sports on the winter sports calendar last night, we begin today’s report with what is on the local schedule tonight for our high school sports teams.  The Charles City Comet wrestling team will be in Oelwein tonight for a Northeast Iowa Conference dual against the Huskies.  The Comet wrestlers are 4-11 overall in dual meets this season and they are 0-2 in the NEIC while the Oelwein wrestlers are 1-9 and 0-4.  The Varsity match is scheduled to start at about 7:15.

The Nashua-Plainfield girls and boys basketball teams will be at home tonight for a Top of Iowa Conference double-header against Central Springs.  The Nashua girls are looking for their first conference win as they sit at 1-9 overall and they are 0-6 in conference play while the Panther girls are 9-1 and 6-1.  The Husky boys come in tonight with an overall record of 5-4 and they are 3-3 in the conference and the Central Springs boys are 0-10 and 0-7.  The girls game will tip-off at about 6:15 with the boys game to follow.

The Osage Green Devil wrestling team will host a Top of Iowa Conference double dual tonight with Nashua-Plainfield and West Fork coming to town.  The first match is scheduled to start at 6pm.

The Saint Ansgar Saints wrestling team will host North Butler and Central Springs tonight in a Top of Iowa Conference double dual.  The first match for this event will also be at 6pm.

The Rockford Warrior wrestling team will host a Top of Iowa Conference double dual as well tonight as they will have Mason City Newman and Northwood-Kensett in town.  This meet will get started at 6pm as well.
