Train/Vehicle Crash in Clear Lake

Clear Lake, IA – A train collided with a vehicle in Clear Lake early on Thursday morning. No one was injured in this wreck.

The accident happened near Highway 18 and Buddy Holly Place. A Chevy Avalanche driven by 26-year-old Robert Schick of Clear Lake was traveling north when the collision happened. The accident occurred around 6:46 a.m. The car was drug for a few yards after initial contact.

Schick had collided with a Canadian Pacific train that was carrying ethanol. The accident is still under investigation.

The Clear Lake Fire Department, Clear Lake Police Department and the Canadian Pacific Railroad all responded to the wreck.
