Wednesday CCPD Report

Charles City, IA – The Charles City Police Department made an arrest and responded to a car accident on Wednesday.

Two vehicles were involved in a crash at the intersection of Milwaukee St. and Ferguson St on Wednesday afternoon. 83-year-old Frederick Miller was stopped at a stop sign while traveling south. He proceeded to go through the intersection when it was not clear. He was then struck by 70-year-old Dennis Niezwagg. No one was injured in the wreck, but Miller was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. About $3,000 in damage was done to Miller’s vehicle while $1,000 in damage was done to Niezwaag’s truck.

The arrest happened in the 600 block of 3rd Ave. Officers were called there for a vehicle that had not been moved in a couple of days. While they were there, 27-year-old Brittaney T. Jones of Charles City was arrested on a Floyd County warrant for disorderly conduct. This happened around 3:47 in the afternoon.
