Mason City, IA – Hospitals are seeing more cases of influenza this winter season. That has caused one north Iowa hospital to put some restrictions on who can visit parts of the hospital.
Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa will be applying these restrictions. Several departments in the hospital will be affected by this.
Anyone who is 18 years old or younger and anyone with influenza-like symptoms will be restricted from visitation. Only parents, guardians or grandparents will be allowed in the pediatric department. And the birth center will be limited to significant other/spouse and grandparents.
In special cases, families should call the nurse in charge of the unite before arriving.
