Annual Telethon for Cancer Research

Charles City, IA – The Eagles Cancer Telethon has been going on for years. This drive helps raise money to fund cancer research.

Jerry Lee Funk, working with the telethon, got involved with this fundraiser in the 1990s and he has been involved ever since.

The telethon starts Saturday at 8 p.m. and runs until Sunday at 4 p.m. Funk says where viewers can find it and where they can donate.

Funk says that over the last few years, the telethon has brought in over $1 million for cancer research.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio. He says he's good at karaoke but we think otherwise. ;) In his free time, he enjoys beginning new projects at home and hardly ever finishing them.
