Fayette County Man Pleads Not Guilty to Gun Charge

Cedar Rapids, IA – A Fayette County man has entered a plea for felony gun charges he received after a September incident.

42-year-old Mark Opperman had been charged with felon in possession of a firearm after a .22-caliber Winchester Model 190 rifle was found in his car. He was not allowed to possess a firearm due to a 2004 conviction for operating a meth lab out of his house in Sumner.

Opperman pled not guilty to this charge in the U.S. District Court on Friday. He will now appear in court in March.
