CCPD Reports to Two Car Accidents on Wednesday

Charles City, IA – Two car accidents were reported within 20 minutes of each other in Charles City on Wednesday.

The CCPD first responded to the 900 block of Kelly St. for a two-vehicle accident at 10:56 a.m. 45-year-old Chad Krueger was driving when he swerved to miss another car in traffic. He then sideswiped 67-year-old Jean Hegtvedt. Both drivers are from Charles City. No one was injured in the wreck, but $1,000 in damage was reported.

Police were then called to the 100 block of South Jackson St. at 11:15 a.m. 19-year-old Brady Girkin of Charles City was driving on Jackson St. when he lost control of his vehicle. He then struck a car that was legally parked and unattended that is owned by Joanna Starr. $3,000 in damage was done between the two vehicles.
