The Charles City Comet wrestling team was in Waukon last night for Northeast Iowa Conference matches against the Indians and Waverly-Shell Rock.  The Comet grapplers were able to pick up their second conference win of the season as they knocked off Waukon 43-36, but then lost to the Go-Hawks 54-22.  The Charles City wrestling team is now 6-14 overall and dual meets and they move to 2-2 in NEIC duals.  They will be back in action tonight as they will travel to Cresco for three NEIC matches.  The Comets will take on Oelwein, Decorah and Crestwood with the first matches set to begin at 5:30.

The Charles City Comet girls basketball team will host Crestwood tonight in a Northeast Iowa Conference game against the third-ranked Cadets.  The Comet girls come in with an overall record of 0-13 and they are 0-7 in the NEIC while Crestwood comes in at 13-0 and 7-0.  The Varsity game is scheduled to start at 7:30.

The Nashua-Plainfield girls and boys basketball teams will be in Manly tonight for a Top of Iowa Conference double-header against Central Springs.  The Nashua girls come in with a 2-13 overall record and they are 1-10 in the conference while the Panther girls are 11-3 and 8-3.  The Husky boys are 7-7 overall and their conference record is 5-6 while the Central Springs boys sit at 0-14 and 0-11.  The girls game will be played first and begin at about 6:15 and the boys game will follow.

The North Butler Bearcat girls and boys basketball teams will be in Top of Iowa Conference play tonight at Saint Ansgar.  The Bearcat girls are 8-6 overall this season and they are 6-5 in conference games while the Saints girls are 7-7 and 4-6.  The North Butler boys are 6-6 overall and they are 5-6 in the conference while the Saint Ansgar boys come in at 8-5 and 5-5.  The girls game is scheduled to start at about 6:15 and the boys game will begin around 7:30.

The Rockford Warrior girls and boys basketball teams will be on the road tonight for their Top of Iowa Conference double-header against Northwood-Kensett.  The Rockford girls are 3-11 overall this season and they come in with a conference record of 3-7 while the Viking girls are 1-12 and 1-10.  The Warrior boys are 11-3 overall and have a Top of Iowa Conference record of 8-2 while the Northwood boys come in at 1-11 and 1-10.  The girls game will tip-off at about 6:15 with the boys game to follow.

The Charles City Comet boys basketball team will play at the U.S. Cellular Center tomorrow in Cedar Rapids against Mount Pleasant in a battle of top ten teams in Class 3A.  The Comet boys are 12-1 overall this season and ranked seventh while Mount Pleasant comes in at 11-3 and they are ranked second.  You can tune into this game tomorrow right here on KCHA starting with a pre-game at 11:45 and tip-off is scheduled for noon.
