Thursday Arrest in Charles City

Charles City, IA – One car accident and one arrest had the attention of the Charles City Police Department on Thursday.

The wreck took place at 9:26 a.m. at the intersection of North Johnson St. and Kelly St. 29-year-old Robert Beatty of Charles City was heading east when he failed to yield the right of way. Beatty struck 30-year-old Joshua True’s car. True was heading north on Johnson St. when he was struck. Beatty was cited for failure to yield the right of way. A combined $3,800 in damage was done their vehicles.

The arrest took place in the 1400 block of Gilbert St. 50-year-old Brien Sling of Charles City was arrested on a warrant for violating his probation out of Floyd County. The CCPD responded to this call at 4:21 p.m.

Chris was born in Webster City and raised in Charles City. As a young kid, he would always be caught singing along to songs on the radio.
