Charles City, IA – The Floyd County Medical Center is doing something that they have never done before. That is request some financial support from the county.
A couple of hospital representatives met with Floyd County Board of Supervisors on Monday to present their case for support. The hospital is requesting $100,000. The FCMC is one of few county hospitals to currently not receive financial help.
The FCMC’s 2017 fiscal year only saw around $5,500 in revenue. In 2016 and 2017, the hospital saw $1 million in revenue over expenses for each year. Other county hospitals that are in the same size counties as Floyd have received on average $1.48 million.
This meeting was only a planning meeting. The Board of Supervisors requested to see more financial statements.
